This document will walk you through creating your first opt-in form using Opt-in Samurai WordPress plugin. Navigate to Forms > Add New in your WP-Admin area. You will see a screen similar to this one.

The default title and description boxes in WordPress are used for form title and body content. You can also add images in the form body. Smaller size images are recommended.

Right below the text editor, you will notice a blue button says “Select Theme“. That button will let you choose form theme from the 100+ available form design collection in the plugin.

Background Image

Some form designs include a background image, it also tells you the exact size of the image which you can upload as your form background.

Mailing List

When you install Opt-in Samurai, it automatically creates a default local mailing list for you. At least one mailing list has to be available for the opt-in forms to send values to. If you want, you can create multiple local mailing list. There is a document on local mailing list. You can also send opt-in values to a 3rd party email service. Opt-in Samurai comes pre-built with up to 16 popular email services that connect smoothly with Opt-in Samurai.

When you create a form, a mailing list is required to be selected so the opt-in form can store the values in it.

Other Customization

You can enable name field on some forms. Not all forms support name fields so when you choose a form design, take the one considering this in mind.

• Update the submit button text according to your needs.
• Thank you message is displayed when the form values are successfully stored on your local or 3rd party mailing list
• Disclaimer text allows you to enter disclaimer text and it also supports html tags.
